Diving for the stars

The new eco indoor swimming pool lets you dive into the underground water world of the mountains

We have been thinking for a long time about ways to offer our guests an even more comfortable stay. An indoor swimming pool was always at the top of our wish list. However, we didn’t want our indoor pool to be an overheated pool smelling of chlorine. Instead, our idea was to create a pool as sustainably as possible and in line with our values. That was not so easy and required a lot of research. In the meantime, we found a way to make our dream a reality and a fine indoor eco-pool is ready for our Stern guests.

The water rises at the spring source and travels via the stream and a waterfall into a large mountain lake. In a mountain lake, you have to be careful not to be carried away by a whirlpool or a strong current. All around you, it’s possible to glimpse the pure, natural beauty of the sunny plateau: the glorious sun, the larch meadows, the flowery meadows and of course the magnificent Mieminger mountain range.

In the large pool, you can jump in from the rock and discover the stars if you have the correct diving goggles. Indeed, depending on the colour of the goggles, you can discover completely different treasures. For non-swimmers, there is a toddler area for splashing around, while the bigger kids can race on the triplex slide.

Sustainable ideas can be discovered and experienced through play: Transparent indoor pool technology, the connection with the natural water cycle, the visualization of technology through the solar cells, water purification, etc.
