Winter at Stern is quiet and gentle, almost tranquil.
Far away from the busy, larger ski resorts, children can learn to ski on our children’s ski course or if they prefer, they can choose to discover the snow-covered landscape through our children’s nature programme. Grandpa Toni also comes to feed the animals in winter and the ponies love nothing more than to plod through the snow.
For our more grown-up guests who enjoy walking or hiking for hours through the winter landscape, Stern offers fantastic cross-country ski trails, snowshoe trails and winter hiking trails, beginning directly at the hotel. Sledges are available for rent at any time, allowing you to race down the nearest slope as quickly as possible. Our lantern hike with a mulled wine stop also has to be on your must-do list. There is so much more to a winter holiday at the Stern!
For over 500 years, traditions at Stern have been passed down through generations, and for many years we have been even more consciously committed to climate protection, biodiversity and “new” mobility. We wish to enjoy both the summer and winter together with our guests, while consciously preserving the natural beauty that surrounds us. Our heart belongs not only to the people, but also to nature and we have to protect it. Every day, we try to breathe new life into our motto “I schaug auf Di, Du schaugsch auf mi“ (Tyrolean for: I take care of you. You take care of me).

Year-round nature experience programme for children, from three to twelve years old. After the ski course, children can go sliding on the snow, sledging or ice skating, have a treasure hunt, go on a pony ride, bake and much more.
Sternchen Kids Club – Outside in the snow
Outside of holiday periods, we offer a special programme for babies from 6 months and toddlers from two to six years old. Petting zoo, horse carriage ride, slides, snowman building, pony rides and more.
