Sternchen Club
Outdoors, well guided and thoughtfully adapted to each age, rhythm and season.
This is what makes it feel so right for family holidays: children have their own Stern moments, while parents get the chance to slow down and breathe a little too. Not because every moment is tightly scheduled, but because everything works together naturally.
At a glance
Time for children that makes family holidays feel even easier.
From Monday to Friday, the Sternchen Club offers an age-appropriate nature experience programme – complemented by shared family experiences and relaxed evening moments at The Stern. We love being outdoors: in the forest, with the animals, on the meadow or wherever the season offers something to discover. Nature, craft, mindful experiences and a good feeling for what children enjoy are naturally woven into everything we do.
For babies up to 18 months, many things are already prepared. Toddlers are gently accompanied in the mornings, while kindergarten and school-age children enjoy a well-balanced programme with plenty of movement, creativity and little adventures. Family activities and experiences that fit well with the adults’ holiday are also part of it. At weekends, supervised play, guided pony rides and a campfire evening round off the Stern programme.
What you can look forward to:
Babies
up to 18 months
For babies, many things are ready and waiting at The Stern: a baby package in the room, homemade purées, baby monitors and babysitting on request. Outside holiday periods, there is also a baby lounge on three mornings per week. This means that even with the very youngest guests, many little things have already been thought of.
Toddlers
18 months to 3 years
Toddlers are gently accompanied in the mornings at The Stern and can also join family outings. There is plenty of time outdoors, with animals, meadows and an age-appropriate nature programme. Buggies, child carriers, Chariots, Bobby Cars and balance bikes are ready to use.
Kindergarten children
3 to 6 years
Kindergarten children enjoy a nature-focused weekly programme with around 30-35 hours from Monday to Friday. Forest days, animal feeding, pony time, playing, crafting, baking, campfires and many small Stern moments outdoors are all part of it.
School-age children
6 to 11 years
School-age children enjoy a varied weekly programme with plenty of time outdoors. This includes forest camp with a flying fox, archery, carving, time with horses and sometimes even sleeping in the hay. Around The Stern, there is lots of space for football, torchlight adventures and whatever children come up with together.
Older kids & teens
from 11 years
Older kids love the extra freedom. They can take part in adult activities like biking, yoga or sunrise walks, go riding, rafting, head to the high ropes course or try canyoning. There are also challenges, nights in the hay, football or basketball with new friends – or they can even help out as assistants in the kid’s club.

Five Stern Moments
-
1A night in the hay: campfires, stars above and falling asleep deeply content.2Grandpa Toni, ponies and feeding the animals – the real highlight of the day.3A whole day in the forest: making fires, carving, flying fox adventures and simply being outdoors.4Family time at its best – during pony walks, at favourite spots and family gatherings.5From sleeping in the hay o treehouse building and soapbox racing: these special Stern weeks stay with you for a long time.
Family moments together
At The Stern, it’s not just about activities for children. There are also many experiences families can enjoy together: family outings, pony walks, family challenges, gatherings, campfires, marshmallow roasting and, depending on the season, special Stern moments outdoors in nature. This creates a holiday you experience together – not just side by side.
Special weeks. Typical Stern.
Some weeks at The Stern have a sparkle all of their own. Each one centres around a shared project and a big family experience:
Alpine hut nights – 4 to 18 July 2026
With a campfire, tent and summit views at 2,000 metres – a Stern experience for families that stays with you.Treehouse building – 22 August to 5 September 2026
Planning, hammering, building and finally moving in with pride – together with other families and lots of Stern feeling.Soapbox racing – 10 to 24 October 2026
Screwing, painting, tinkering and cheering at the race – for children who love using their hands and their heads.Sleeping in the hay – always possible
Sleeping in fragrant hay, sitting by the fire and looking at the stars – a Stern experience that works in every season, but feels especially wonderful in summer.Plenty to do without a fixed programme
Even when there is no fixed programme, there is still so much to do at The Stern: the play barn, forest playground, big meadow, animals, ponies, eco indoor swimming pool, football and basketball court. There is also a creative room, the star platform and many little corners throughout the hotel. Children can head off, play and explore on their own – while parents know that everything stays within a good, safe framework.
What about winter?
Even in winter, the Sternchen Club naturally spends plenty of time outdoors. Away from the bustle of the larger ski areas, children discover snow-covered meadows, help Grandpa Toni feed the animals, take the ponies for a walk through the snow or slide down the hill. Beginners can join the children’s ski course at Grünberg, while more advanced skiers head to Hochoetz – all coordinated with the Sternchen Club programme. Add snow time around the house, little winter adventures, sledging, winter walks, snowshoeing and that clear, cold air that makes your head feel free.
