It’s precisely these stories that inspire us so much: a carefree childhood and what that provides: family protection, a sense of togetherness with friends and having nature as a playground. That’s why you’ll always find us outdoors with the kids whenever we can – whether for the big ones, like at nature camp, or the little ones, like at the forest kindergarten.
Forest Kindergarten
During non-holiday periods for babies from 6 months to 6 year old children
Monday to Friday, approx. 8pm, 8 to 28 January and 4 March to 1 April, as well as 15 April to 27 May, 10 June to 8 July and 9 to 30 September 2023
Petting zoo with ponies, goats and rabbits! A highlight!
Renting a pony is very simple: we saddle you up and you can go for a walk with the pony for an hour.
Grandpa Toni always needs the children’s help with feeding and cleaning out the stalls – daily from 5pm (winter from 4pm).
The playground and large meadow with tree house and mud corner offer plenty of space to explore and play – right beside the hotel!
Family excursions together, including picnic, to the most beautiful corners of our region
Services for young parents, ranging from flexible meal times and freshly prepared baby food to infant equipment (child carrier, trailer, baby monitor, …)
And inside there are things that everyone can use
Large playroom in the main building with lots of games, cosy and creative room, climbing and activity room and also movie nights.
NEW! Stern-Sch(n)uppen children’s adventure barn, accessible from both inside and outside. A huge roof covered playground with creative spaces for the children’s program and with a star gazing platform on top.
Forest Adventure Camp
All year round for children from 3 to 12 years old
Spend all day exploring, carving and making a campfire.
Monday to Friday, approx. 35h – offered all year round.
Larchplatzl is the name of the forest playground with a flying fox zipline, balancing platform and giant swing, as well as a new teepee with campfire.
A night together with the family in the hay barn, situated in the middle of the larch meadows, including a campfire evening.
Camp overnight in tents at an alpine pasture at 2.000 m, with a campfire and cow milking – remains the highlight of the year (July 1st to 15th)
Building soap box racecars and then afterwards driving them in the Grand Prix d’Obsteig 😉 – only from August 26th to September 9th!
Plan a tree house and then build it over the whole week – only from October 7th to 21st!

Also in winter: Snow Adventure Camp
Far away from the hustle and bustle of the big ski resorts, the little ones can learn how to ski on our children’s ski course or discover the snowy landscape on the children’s nature programme. Grandpa Toni also comes by to feed the animals in winter and the ponies love trudging through the snow. If you prefer, you can instead just grab a snow slider to zoom down the slopes, or a shovel to build a snowman or even an igloo. Whatever you do, you’ll be out in the glorious open air and enjoying the wintry sunshine.
Petting zoo, renting a pony and helping Grandpa Toni with the animals remain our guest’s favourite activities, even in winter!
Snow around the hotel can be used to build a snowman, have a snowball fight or just slide down some smaller slopes.
Ski course with a guarantee to learn skiing in Grünberg or, for advanced skiers, in Hochoetz – coordinated with the Sternchen Kids Club programme.
There is much more to winter with sledging, sliding, ice skating, snowshoe hiking, winter hiking, snowman building.
