THE STARS

“Nose to tail, “mit Butz und Stingl” (Tyrolean for “from core to stem”. Wasting food is out of the question in the Stern kitchen. We cook regionally and seasonally.”

An inn for everyone!

For over 500 years, the Stern inn has been a focal point of eating, talking, celebrating and socializing.

In the past, products were bought regionally and everything was processed from the animal or the vegetable with zero waste, so to speak. What has become modern today has always been common practice at the Stern. With our kitchen concept “mit Butz and Stingl,” (Tyrolean for: Nothing goes to waste) we are even more committed to sustainability in our cooking. We want to make our guests aware of where food comes from and how it is processed. Using the whole animal and not just the fillet cuts is not seen as a limitation, but instead a commitment to creativity and diversity: a constantly changing menu, fresh ingredients from the region, traditional dishes based on recipes from Grandma Adele’s cookbook while also featuring more modern, vegetarian dishes.

Celebrate parties at the Stern

The inn was in the past and today remains a central place for the community, a place where the whole village and travelers can gather. So much has changed in the last five hundred years, but the main function of the inn has remained the same – to eat, talk and celebrate the time we spend together. Now, more than ever, despite or even because of digitalization, people need community. The Stern is the ideal choice for celebrating together at baptisms, weddings, First Communions, Confirmations or whatever celebration or festival happens to be around the corner.

The Stern inn is a special place for families with children. A playground full of variety, a petting zoo (feeding with Grandpa Toni daily at 17.00 is not to be missed!), the spacious playroom and the new Stern-Sch(n)uppen playbarn make any party or celebration a great experience for the little ones and allow the adults a little time to eat and chat in peace.

Comfort both outdoors and indoors

The most comfortable summer spot in the Tyrolean Oberland region is probably the beautiful outdoor dining area of the Stern, with its centuries-old chestnut trees. Try an aperitif on the relaxing sun terrace or tuck yourself away in a cosy, Tyrolean-style room or “Stube” as we say, which have plenty of old stories to tell. As unique as the Tyrolean-style rooms and outdoor dining areas are, the true feeling of enjoyment at the STERN means much more: it’s about the feeling you get when you enter the Stern. The feeling that you are welcome and that we really enjoy taking care of our guests.
