Just like a farm holiday – but with the indulgence that only a hotel provides


At Stern we live and breathe farming. Guests can help if they like, but can also choose to really relax if they prefer.


There used to be a farm at the Stern and we produced a lot of food ourselves. Although we stopped farming in the 1990s, more recently we have begun to farm again, and guests are always welcome to help out. A farming highlight is certainly potato planting and picking. If you are really committed to helping it can be hard, physical work, but at the same time it is a truly rewarding experience when children and parents can witness together how food is both grown and harvested. However, not only the potatoes come from our own fields. We also try to grow as much of the produce that we serve as possible ourselves.

But you don’t always need to help out. When you are with us, you can leave everyday life behind and really immerse yourself in the rural serenity and Austrian cosiness, enjoying the sense of space and freedom for all. Children play independently and freely, goats bounce around, ponies are saddled and carefully guided, parents discover the mountains while grandparents sit comfortably in the garden and enjoy the delicacies of the inn. … Just like a farm holiday – but also with the indulgence that only a hotel provides!
