Small but nice family skiing area
Grünberg offers the perfect start to a skier’s career. A small resort with guaranteed snow and perfect facilities for children (magic carpets, carousel and drag lift) and many other snow-based attractions for children (sledging, playground, …) and adults (start for ski tour, snowshoe tour and cross-country trails).
The ski area is located just 1 km from the hotel and thus easily accessible by car, ski bus or hotel shuttle, but also on foot.
Snow experience in the Sternchen Kids Club
The kids can return to the Stern with the hotel shuttle and enjoy lunch right away. Then it’s out into the snow again for the afternoon, because winter has so much to offer, like sledging, ice skating, building snowmen, sliding.
So it is also possible for parents to have some free time between 10am and 4pm (that is, after bringing the children to the ski course yourself).

The ski instructors of the Schaber Ski School are assisted by the “Hermelinchen” (the school mascot, which is a weasel) and teach children (from 4 to 10 years old) how to ski in a very short time (5 mornings) with a lot of fun and passion. Guaranteed – or else the next course is for free!

- Registration: personally on arrival, daily from 9am to 5pm for ski courses and private lessons, also for snowboard and cross-country skiing
- Courses: children from 4 years; Monday to Friday always from 10am to 12pm; on Mondays the groups are divided and on Friday there is a race with a medal ceremony.
- Price: Euro 155 per child (instead of Euro 210)
- Ski rental: Alpine ski set (skis, boots, poles) for 5 days – minus 10% Stern discount; ski depot directly at the Grünberg lift
Ski ahoy for advanced skiers
The Stern is located within the catchment area of several excellent ski resorts. More experienced skiers can take the free hotel ski shuttle to Hochoetz and ski down the slopes or instead take advantage of the ski package offered by the AGE ski school for 3 excitement-packed days of skiing!
- Hotel shuttle: 3 times daily from Tuesday to Thursday. 20-minute journey from Stern to Hochoetz
- Ski area Hochoetz: 12 lifts/cable cars and 30km of slopes, up to 2.000m; ski passes can be bought at the Stern (not included)
- Ski package: 3-day ski course with transfer from hotel, lunch and ski race, ski school AGE
